Informal Labor: A Modern Day Slave
Informal Labors often shares the status of modern day slaves in India and constitutes 93% of our workforce and creates 64% of GDP but are factually the most vulnerable part of Society. In the words of Mr Arbind Singh, the executive director who recently received the Skoll foundation social entrepreneurship award “informal workers in india are street traders, domestic workers, construction laborers, market vendors, agriculture workers and more. They toil hard, often in actual waste piles, of garbage and scraps, but broken systems and structures keep them there in a vicious cycle with no forward progress.
The solution or “Nidan” :
From almost last 2 decades Nidan-Nasvi leads the informal labor in all parts of India , reached and effectively impacted more than 3 lakh families of informal labor and with the contribution of yours we have plans to take this number to more than 25 lakhs by the end of 2017.
What can your donations Accomplish :
If you support Nidan by
$ 25-Provide a street food vendor to buy equipments for safe and hygenic food.
$ 50-Provide a solar lamp panel to a street hawker.
$100- A new cycle/hand cart rickshaw to an informal labor
$150-Provide start up capital to get out of the crunches of money lenders
$500- To enable domestic worker to setup food/tiffin supply unit
