Nikki's determined to make a recovery
Organized by: Heather Munoz
As many of you know, two weeks ago, Nikki had an accident while skiing at Bull Shoals lake. Initially we took her to the ER in Baxter, AK where she got diagnosed with a severe hamstring tear and a severe tendon injury where her tendon was torn off the bone. At the time , we were told there was nothing they could do and it would just take a long time to heal. She was ordered to follow up with her own orthopedic when he got home, which she did. The news she received from her own doctor was that she needed to see a surgeon the next day to get advice and low and behold was in the operating room less than 24 hrs later. The Doctor had to put anchors in her hip and reattach the tendon to the anchors. She can only sit at a 45 degree and and bare no weight at all for 4-6 weeks. She had to take Full time FMLA at work and her husband, Mike, has to take intermittent FMLA because she can not take care of herself right now. As you can imagine, the medical expenses are going to add up quickly. Please help Nikki and her family as she needs our prayers and support.
