BENEFITING: NEW JERSEY CHORAL SOCIETY INC
EVENT DATE: May 31, 2014
Celebrating over 30 years of passion, excellence, and imagination, the New Jersey Choral Society is one of the most prestigious choral groups in the tri-state area, well-known for presenting outstanding and unique programs. For its 2013-2014 season Masterwork concert in May 2014, the chorus hopes to perform the rare masterpiece, The Cloud Messenger by Gustav Holst. NJCS seeks to fund special performance costs, such as orchestra, children's chorus, and special lighting effects, to make this a truly remarkable experience for its audience. The Cloud Messenger is based on an enchanting and moving Hindu poem about a man exiled to a mountain by a deity and the cloud that carries his message of love back to his lonely wife.
The New Jersey Choral Society, led by dynamic director, Eric Dale Knapp, and accompanied by Linda Sweetman-Waters, has been called "spell-binding" and hailed as "a major force in music for the wider area in which it performs." Visit NJCS at www.NJCS.org.
