The New Mexico School for the Blind and Visually Impaired serves New Mexico students from birth through high school graduation. Students move fluidly between their home schools and NMSBVI’s residential campus. Families of young, newly diagnosed children receive information and support from the school’s Family Infant Toddler Program. Students develop skills needed for successful transition to adulthood through the many programs offered by NMSBVI.
NMSBVI’s mission is to ensure that “all students who are blind or visually impaired will become independent productive members of their communities by identifying and providing quality education and collaborating with students, families and partners to provide outstanding training, resources and support services.” To that end, NMSBVI Foundation is committed to identifying the resources to support these initiatives for New Mexico students who are blind and visually impaired.
