Hey everyone. I am a single mom. I have 2 Children. A beautiful daughter who is 5 yrs old and my son (my rock) who is 13 yrs old. In Dec. of 2013 my son was diagnosed with ALL Leukemia. Words can't explain the fear"as a mother" I was facing. But how do you think a 10 yr old little boy felt? That's only the beginning. I can say for the first 9 or so months all I did was cry everyday ,all the time. My son seeing me saddened for him all the time. It wasn't just the fight he was going threw , his life that he knew was completely taking from him. He could no longer go to school. He couldn't play baseball anymore which he played since he was 4. He couldn't go to the store or out to eat because he could catch a cold and possibly die from it. His appearance that made him feel ugly when he looked in the mirror. Staying at the hospital for weeks at a time. The hospital was his home then. The worst for me to see him go threw was him not allowed to be home for Christmas. I decorated his hospital room with lights and I got him a little tree. I tried to make it the best I could for him. Later on that day which was Christmas Eve. Elijah was sent to ICU at about 10pm. He had to put on dialysis because when he was diagnosed (dec 21) they discovered Elijah had only 1 kidney. I thought I lost him. He was white as a ghost and just lifeless He didn't get to open his Christmas presents until 2 days later. To this day he does not have any recollection of Christmas 2013. I am organizing this fundraiser for him. So he can put the money away and just get something he always wanted. He has been threw hell and he will survive 6 months to go of chemo I could not be more honored to be his mom. He is my hero,my rock. No child should be going threw this no child should fight alone. Thank you
