My wife and I have for several years fostered dogs through different organizations in Central Ohio. Our experience has been both rewarding as well as saddening. There are just too many dogs that need rescued and too few volunteers to foster them. Consequently, thousands of local dogs and cats are put down.

The Humane Society estimates that animal shelters care for 6-8 million dogs and cats every year in the United States, of whom approximately 3-4 million are euthanized. At this time, there is no central data reporting agency for animal shelters, so these numbers are estimates. The dogs that get put down are guilty of nothing. It most cases their deaths are the result of irresponsible pet owners that for any number of reasons surrendered the dog.
I am soliciting donations to buy are large parcel of land between Columbus and Cleveland, to build 1,000 dog and cat kennels on. Some of those kennels will serve as permanent homes for animals that are unadoptable but most will be temporary housing for pets until they can be adopted.
Once the facility is built we plan to keep it going through individual and corporate donations and sponsorship.
Your donations will never be used for any purpose outside of the stated mission. My wife and I will not be “employees,” of the center and as such will never look to gain from it financially. If our goals are not met donors should expect to be refunded in full.
The impacts of your donations are simple. 100% of every dollar you give goes towards keeping a dog or cat alive.
