Pug Rescue of Austin is dedicated to the rescue and placement of abused, neglected and unwanted pugs. We do not discriminate on the basis of health or age. Because of this, we end up with significant expenses for veterinary bills, as many of the dogs that come through our rescue are elderly or in very poor and declining health. In addition to providing routine intake medical services, PRA covers all treatment considered urgent and/or essential for a dog to become adoptable. Over 95% of all PRA proceeds are used to pay for rescued dogs' medical and dental expenses. Emancipet is one of the ways that we as an organization are able to afford to never say no to a pug in need. They offer us spay/neuter and veterinary care that is affordable to us as a nonprofit and is accessible to our fosters throughout the city. In addition, they advocate for strategies and public policy that improve the lives of pets in underserved communities, which means that fewer pugs and pug mixes end up needing to be rehomed. This organization helps us improve the lives of pugs and the people who love them, and we are very grateful for that. I hope that you will join me in showing my appreciation for this service that they provide our community.
