THE STORY:

Sentinels of Freedom is a non-profit organization that partners with severely wounded and injured veterans to help them achieve their academic and career goals. Our mission is to assist these severely wounded and injured post 9/11 veterans in their efforts to become productive and self-sufficient members of their communities as they transition back into civilian life while they attend college or vocational school.

Veterans are a uniquely skilled and qualified work force that can make an immediate impact for any employer; it is for that reason that we are passionate about assisting these veterans as they successfully complete their higher education leading to meaningful career focused employment and financial independence.

We accomplish these goals through our comprehensive transition program that is tailored to the individual veteran. Each two to four year scholarship offers financial assistance through housing subsidies, financial coaching and planning, mentoring program, networking opportunities and employment assistance to our scholarship recipients.

Sentinels of Freedom serves more than 220 wounded and injured veterans across 39 states. We call our scholars Sentinels in honor of their service to our country.

According to a College Career Insight Survey, only 14% of college graduates have a job lined up upon graduation; this stands in stark contrast with the 85% of Sentinels who successfully attain employment by the time they graduate from their respective college program. 95% of Sentinels are employed or in career based internships within 6 months of graduation.
