BENEFITING: Innocence Project
In the American Justice System, you are innocent until proven guilty, supposedly. In reality, many people are wrongly accused of crimes they didn’t commit. Whether it is due to lack of evidence or false accusation, the Innocence Project will help the wrongly accused. Multiple factors including misidentification, or false witness testimonies, can lead to unethical incarceration. The Innocence Project does research to see if someone is guilty or not. The Innocence Project pays for lawyers and DNA testing to find evidence, to try exonerate people. They also work to get laws changed for the better.
I am Noah Pachter. I am 13 years old and have an upcoming Bar Mitzvah. Before my big day, I am wanting to make difference in the world. The Bar Mitzvah Project is used to show that the Bar Mitzboy or girl is becoming an adult and is no longer only caring for themselves, but rather ascending into an adult and can help others. This project really moves me because it allows people a second chance. As we continue to spiral into the 21st century, we need to focus on benefiting our fellow man.
