You have probably heard me talk about Camp Sloane YMCA in Lakeville, CT. I had five good summers at Camp Sloane as a camper and three as an employee. Camp Sloane taught me how to get along with others who came from backgrounds that were different from my own. The outdoor experience helped me grow and mature as a young person. I lived in a tent with six other boys and a counselor. I hiked, did arts and crafts, learned to swim, row, canoe, and sail, and even square dance. It helped make me into the person I am today. Camp Sloane has always been important to my family. My parents both attended as campers and staff. My siblings were campers or staff members as well. Three generations later, even my children and some of their cousins have been campers and counselors. Camp Sloane was so influential in my life that today I am chairman of the Board of Directors. I want as many kids as possible to experience Camp Sloane. To help me make that happen I am asking you to sponsor me while I put away my cell phone on Saturday, July 11th. My goal is to raise $1,000. I would appreciate what ever you feel you can donate. No amount is too small. All of the funds raised will be used for camperships.Thank you for your support.
