NOROC's Grannies are retired yet tireless women on a very small fixed income who devote four hours a day, six days a week and 50 weeks a year to building relationships of care and trust with institutionalized infants, toddlers and small children. Without their care, stimulation and playful presence, abandoned children might not feel a regular loving touch. There is simply not enough money in the system for staff to care for so many.
For 15 years, NOROC has administered this win-win situation for Grannies. Six to eight children of trauma gain nurture and attention; grannies gain a small stipend that puts meat on their tables. More importantly, the grannies earn a place in the hearts of the children they serve and create an extended family.
Please join us in paying TRIBUTE to TIRELESS GRANNIES. Your generosity rewards Grannies now in place, and helps us to recruit more. NOROC thanks you, the Grannies thank you, and the children of Tulcea County institutions thank you!
