BENEFITING: NORTHERN CALIFORNIA SLED DOG RESCUE
EVENT DATE: Jan 24, 2011
This week we're featuring CODY, a sweet and friendly boy of about four years old who has stolen our hearts! Cody came to us from the Martinez shelter where he had been dumped, suffering and bedraggled from lack of care. NorSled's volunteers took him straight to our vets where he was found to be thyroid deficient and to have multiple bacterial infections requiring two different antibiotics. These problems combined with food allergies explained the unhappy condition of his fur and skin, and probably the reason he was abandoned. Luckily for Cody this is all behind him now that NorSled is providing the care he needs. This wonderful dog just needed a little attention, and he is blossoming before our eyes! He has an absolutely charming personality and has developed a fan-club following who ask about him daily as he continues to improve. Cody will have himself a happy home before we know it.
NorSled is different in that we take dogs with "issues" that make it more challenging for them to find a home. We think everyone deserves a chance at happiness, don't you? We need your help to reach our goal of $5,000 by Valentine's Day- with a little bit of love we can do it!
Northern CA Sled Dog Rescue (NORSLED) is a non profit all volunteer organization dedicated to rescuing, fostering and finding homes for unwanted northern breed dogs, both purebred and mixed-breed. We work throughout Northern California and parts of Nevada, often providing extensive medical care to rehabilitate injured and abused dogs. Since our inception in 1998 we have helped find homes for over 1,700 dogs.
