Friends and Family,
Thank you for visiting my Crowdrise page! I am so excited to share with you all that I have been given this amazing opportunity through my nursing program at Northeastern University and through Corner of Love to visit Nicaragua and provide healthcare over my Spring Break.
I applied to participate in the program with the hope of improving my nursing skills, in addition to the global exposure it would give me. Each day we will visit a new town or villiage to provide basic care, care that we often take for granted, to patients who do not regularly get to see healthcare providers. Licenced providers will examine patients and offer medications as needed, and we will assist in patient care as well as documentation. Throughout the trip we will document our own experiences and reflect on our time in Nicaragua, and apply these experiences to our coursework in a coinciding Community Health course.
I am thrilled and delighted to be embarking on this journey, and hope that you may consider donating in order to help me reach my goal of $1250 to be given directly to Corner of Love. All donations made here are 100% tax deductable.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and please continue to read below about Corner of Love and the mission we will be embarking on.

Corner of Love invites participants from Northeastern University, the greater Boston-area, and all those connected to Corner of Love Team Leader Paulette Thabault to serve with us this March as part of a ten day international experience in global healthcare. (If you are not affiliated with any of these, YOU MAY STILL APPLY by first emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.) This specialized team with students and faculty from The School of Nursing will carry out four medical-dental clinics in rural, mountainous communities where families survive on less than $1 U.S. per day and most lack basic needs like clothing, potable water, and medicine. Each day we’ll pack our supplies, load them onto trucks and buses, and venture out to set up these mobile clinics that offer stations like height and weight, visual acuity, general medicine, dental care, pharmacy, clothing, family counseling station, and more. One day of clinic will also be held at our own facility, Plaza de Bondad on La Lima River (one kilometer from our Quinta). Though our team will include healthcare professionals, as with any Corner of Love trip, you do NOT have to a licensed professional to join this group. We also need general volunteers who are willing to help count pills and vitamins, organize the pharmacy, sort shoes and donations, and run the clinics. We have many jobs like filling goodie bags, sorting charts, separating toiletries, etc. that do not require healthcare knowledge. Of course there is always a need for doctors and dentists too! Spread the word! We have room for up to 80 participants on this week. Get your application in early to reserve your spot.
