Hi Friends and Family,
I am very excited to let everyone know that I was selected as 1 of 8 students to represent Northeastern University on a medical mission trip to Nicaragua this March through a fabulous organization called Corner Of Love (http://corneroflove.org/). This specialized team with students and faculty from the School of Nursing will carry out medical-dental clinics in rural, mountainous communities where families survive on less than $1 U.S. per day and most lack basic needs like clothing, clean water, and medicine. Each day we’ll pack our supplies, load them onto trucks and buses, and venture out to set up these mobile clinics that offer stations like height and weight, visual acuity, general medicine, dental care, pharmacy, clothing, family counseling station, and more. I am so incredibly excited to be culminating my wonderful experiences in nursing school with this life changing opportunity!
The cost of the trip will be $1,300 plus airfare so I will be spending the next couple of months fundraising to help me cover the cost of the trip. I sincerely appreciate anything anyone is willing to give! Every little bit helps and thank you all so much in advance!
