BENEFITING: North Texas Food Bank
Who: martial arts clubs (and members in general) of UTD, UNT, SMU, and UTA. What: The first ever open seminar amongst the martial arts clubs in the major universities of North Texas! How: Everyone attending will be given a number between 1 and 6, which will become their group number. Every school will send two representative instructors to teach a fifteen minute seminar of their area of expertise, and every group will cycle through all 6 instructors (UTA is not able to send instructors this time, but they're still attending). Afterwards, some open competition (whoever you want, however you want) and then we are looking at Buffalo Wild Wings, as a separate fundraiser for the North Texas Food Bank (read more below). Where: TBD, depending on head count (hoping for February 1, but headcount is locked in on March 15) When: Assuming no venue issues, April 2. Cost: A donation to the North Texas Food Bank of $5, which we will post soon. None of this will be used for profit, it will be used exclusively to cover costs of hosting the venue, should we need any money. We will be transparent and post all costs associated with this in the event, along with receipts. It will be $10 if you are buying at-the-door. Why: Community, charity, and education. Really, what could get better then that? Length: four hours (30 minutes mixer/socializing, 20-30 minute speech by the North Texas Food Bank, two hours of instructional time, thirty minutes of clean up, 30 minutes for miscellaneous time needs).
