Every November, men around the world grow "mos" (i.e., mustaches) to raise money for prostate cancer. This November, in support of Diabetes Awareness Month, I propose the men of Voluntis team together to develop their own "No Shave November" to benefit the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation), a leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research.
In 2014, 9% of adults 18 years and older had diabetes. In 2012 diabetes was the direct cause of 1.5 million deaths, and the men of Voluntis want to help change those statistics, one mo at a time.
Support this important cause by sponsoring someone's mo. All contributions are welcome and fundraising will continue throughout the month of November. At the end of the month, the women of Voluntis will be asked to vote for the Best Overall Mo, Most Creative Mo, and Most Likely to get asked for I.D. (ie. worst mo). Winners will get $100 donated in their name to the JDRF.
We are looking forward to a month filled with a lot of laughs and fun and an opportunity to raise more money to help fight diabetes. If you have any questions, please reach out to Joe Travers (firstname.lastname@example.org).
