THE STORY:
Why am I doing this and why mental health?
Challenges keep me going. I was not born an athlete but as soon as I found out “hard work pays off”, I was hooked. Sports gave me a reason to push harder, work for something bigger, and be a part of a community that I could give to. After graduating from college I worried about not having a challenge anymore. I pursued the field of Sport Psychology in order to make my passion my career- helping individuals, groups, families, and teams work through challenge, build, enhance and maintain mental, emotional and physical growth for performance and life. I started to train for a marathon and looked for other ways I could mentally and physically challenge myself. Training keeps me balanced and helps me manage my stress. Working hard for something that is both mentally and physically challenging reminds me that I am capable of anything I put my mind and body to.
