NationsUniversity Kenya Mission
Organized by: Jon-Roy & Maria Sloan
EVENT DATE Dec 27, 2014
Because of the limited mobility of a people whose primary form of transportation is walking, there is a need to plant more churches in the rural areas of Homa Bay District, Kenya. Of course, with additional churches, there arises the need for additional church leaders to absorb the growing demands of the new congregations. Easily available and affordable training is necessary to help raise up a new generation of leaders prepared to meet these difficult challenges.
Since the Great Commission is a standing order, the purpose of this trip is to explore what ministry needs exist to empower the local churches and church leaders in the Homa Bay region of Kenya. This survey will enable us to partner with the Kenyan churches to work together on what resources are available and the best way to utilize them. An additional stop in Nairobi will gather needed information regarding the opportunity to enhance the NU student experience by meeting with current and former students.
