NW Furniture Bank helps restore hope, dignity and stability in our community by recycling donated furniture to people in need.
Hundreds of agencies work with the homeless, foster kids, and domestic violence cases, but often their clients have no furniture to sleep, sit, or eat on. Imaging getting a job after being homeless, only to come home to live on the floor in blankets. NWFB provides furniture so families can gather around a table and sleep in a bed.
NW Furniture Bank works with agencies to provide their clients furniture to help them on their path to self-sufficiency. The access to gently used furniture for a $50 processing fee gives people a sense of dignity and stability during a time of a major life transition. Payment of the processing fee and the ability to “shop” for their furniture promotes the idea that they are being given a “hand up” instead of a “hand out”.
The cost to furnish a family is $400. Buy a bed for a child for $100.
I left a domestic violence situation and had to start completely over. I was a single mom with 4 kids. We had no furniture and we slept on the floor on blankets. The WWEE organization sent us to you and it was a miracle in our lives. Before I knew it, your truck pulled up and filled our home with everything we could’ve possibly needed. …NWFB Client
