BENEFITING: HUMANE SOCIETY OF SOUTHERN ARIZONA
Help me to help Southern Arizona's pets! If you follow me on Facebook, you know how much I love the pups. And, as most of you know, I was on the Board of The Humane Society of Southern Arizona for nine years, and I was Board Chair for two. HSSA provides life-saving and life-enriching services to pets and the people who love them across Southern Arizona. From the Pet VIP program, which comforts tens of thousands of critically ill or grieving people each year, to public-health services like pet spay/neuter, to its summer camps for kids, to its sheltering and adoption functions, HSSA's programs make Southern Arizona a better place. This innovative organization was among the first in the nation to open pet-adoption stores in local malls, saving countless lives. And HSSA works with researchers at the University of Arizona to explore the many benefits of the human-animal bond. HSSA has been in its home for over 73 years now. It's in the process of building a new home that will be healthier for the people and pets that spend time there. HSSA needs to raise over $2.5 million dollars in the next five months. Otherwise, it will move into its new home encumbered by crushing interest payments on construction loans, which would divert money that could otherwise be going to help the animals. Please support my fundraiser to help HSSA move into its new, healthy home debt free!
