THE STORY:
Nearly every November for the past decade I have stumbled out to 4th Ave in Park Slope or Manhattan Ave in Greenpoint and yelled myself hoarse and clapped my hands numb to support the heroes running the the NYC marathon (especially guys named Dave). And every year I say two things: 1) This is my favorite New York day; and 2) One day I will be a runner, not a spectator. Well, I guess, today is that year! Thank you to New Yorkers For Children for giving me such an incredible opportunity to see what it's like on the other side of the barricade!
New Yorkers For Children is dedicated to improving the lives of youth in and transitioning out of foster care through education and access to opportunity.
Every dollar donated through the TCS New York City Marathon will go towards providing youth in (and transitioning out of) care with the guidance, support, and opportunities all children deserve.
