BENEFITING: JAZZ CHOREOGRAPHY ENTERPRISES INC
Help us celebrate the great American art of jazz dance by supporting the New York Jazz Choreography Project: A Tribute to the Manhattan Transfer.
Who We Are
Jazz Choreography Enterprises, Inc., is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) corporation.
Jazz Choreography Enterprises (JCE) is dedicated to showing New York audiences that the great American art of jazz dance is alive and kicking. To that end we produce the New York Jazz Choreography Project, a celebration of jazz dance featuring original works of jazz in various styles by emerging and established choreographers. Since 2007, the Artistic Directors Marian Hyun and Merete Muenter have presented 75 choreographers and more than 500 dancers from the U.S., South Africa, Germany, and Japan.
On October 18-19, JCE will present the New York Jazz Choreography Project: A Tribute to the Manhattan Transfer at the Ailey Citigroup Theater, The Joan Weill Center for Dance. Audiences of all ages will be treated to dances in a variety of jazz styles, from swing to contemporary, and the chance to see the richness of this great American art form. All dances will be choreographed to song renditions by the Manhattan Transfer, who have been making great jazz music for 40 years!
Why We Need Your Help
These productions are expensive! Our venue is beautiful, but costly. We also need to pay for insurance, music licenses, 11 choreographers, over 40 dancers, technical personnel, and more. But we are committed to presenting an affordable, high quality performance of original jazz dance, and we can do it with your help.
Your contributions would go toward our venue and the stipends for our artists.
Other Ways You Can Help
If you can’t contribute financially, you can still help JCE by sharing this campaign with as many people as you can. You can also “like” the Jazz Choreography Enterprises page on Facebook.
