BENEFITING: JUNIOR LEAGUE OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK INC
EVENT DATE: Nov 03, 2013
"You give, but little when you give of your possessions. It is when you give of yourself that you truly give." - Khalil Gibran
My name is Christine Flach and I am running the 2013 NYC ING Marathon on November 3, 2013 to build better communities within New York City through the New York Junior League. I have been training for months and cannot wait to run 26.2 miles on November 3rd.
I am so inspired by the impact of the New York Junior League (“NYJL”) that embodies a positive force for change within the NYC communities it serves.
The NYJL targets its community outreach efforts on the elderly and children throughout NYC. Our programs promote educational modules such as educating runaway teens and prison inmates on life skills and personal empowerment, providing seniors guidance on dietary planning and living active lives, counseling programs for domestic abuse and rape victims, and creating safe places for children to play through the NYJL’s signature Playground Improvement Project.
Donation proceeds support the NYJL’s collaborative community programs in the NYC metropolitan area, including Ronald McDonald House, Covenant House, Jewish Home Lifecare, Domestic & Other Violence Emergencies, and numerous others.
Each and every donation we receive is crucial to carrying our community initiatives. Through the generosity of donors, the NYJL’s Annual Fund provides essential support for the NYJL and enhances our ability to provide quality community services projects and trained volunteers who serve the needs of the NYC community.
I am asking your help to reach my goal of raising $2,500. No donation is too small. All donations to the NYJL are tax deductible.
Running a marathon has been a long-time goal of mine. I run for the homeless… I run for the hungry… I run for the abused… I run to make New York City a better place for families in need... So… please support this AMAZING CAUSE! And it's tax deductible!
