BENEFITING: NEW YORK SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF
NYSD Playground Update: Thank you to everyone that helped us raise over our goal of $45,000. This money will pay for the expensive, poured rubber surface we need to make the playground accessible to all of our students. We have hired Kompan playgrounds for the design and build and they have been quite generous with a discounted pricing structure. To pay for the equipment and installation, we need to raise an additonal $44,000. While our new goal is ambitious, we want to break ground in late September. Please share with friends and family so that our students can be playing on a new playground by this October!
Every child deserves and needs a safe, accessible place to play and we need your help to make this happen at New York School for the Deaf (also known as Fanwood).
Our playground sustained permanent, structural damage from Hurricane Sandy and our children can no longer safely use it to play. We need to raise funds to build a new, fully accessible playground that will meet the needs of all of our students. Some of our students use wheelchairs and walkers and we need a playground that is accessible and beneficial to all of our children.
Please view our video and slide show and consider starting your own fundraising page for us (click on "join the team") and sharing with friends and family. A donation to our main page is great too. Thank you so much!
