I am running the New York City Tunnel to Towers 5K this year, organized by the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation. Their mission is to honor firefighter Stephen Siller who lost his life responding to the attacks at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, and to honor the military and first responders who continue to sacrifice their lives while serving our country. I have no fundraising goal, but wanted to give others a chance to contribute if they feel compelled. The 3.5 mile run follows the path the Brooklyn firefighter ran to get to the World Trade Center. Most of my runs are just for fun - this one is to honor those we lost on 9/11 at the WTC, the Pentagon, and in Pennsylvania, as well as all the service men and women and first responders who risk their lives for our freedom.
