A wise man once said "Be the change you want to see in the world". A quote I will always cherish, and strive to live by. From a young age, my parents never failed to make me aware of the many incredible opportunities I have been exposed to, and that so many around the world are brimming with potential but do not have the resources and care to move forward. Realising this gave me a sense of purpose, and made me realise there was much more I could do to become actively involved in initiatives which believe in the potential of these individuals, and provide the means to help them flourish.
Heshima Kenya does exactly this, and provides a holistic package of gold-standard care to unaccompanied, separated and orphaned refugee girls fleeing their homes from neighbouring countries, due to civil war, persecution, famine and other causes.
I would like to take the opportunity of my 18th birthday to shine light on this initiative and seek your support in raising $1800 for Heshima Kenya. These funds will go a long way in providing basic necessities for these refugee women and girls and empower them to live healthy lives and earn a livelihood.
Please join me in this venture by contributing to this initiative, and transforming communities one girl at a time.
Heshima; Respect, honour and dignity in Swahili.
