Hi everyone! As some of you may know, I'm going to be running the Boston Marathon for the Hopkinton Center for the Arts in honor of my 8 time Boston Marathon running mama, Cathy Howe.
I am so proud to be running on behalf of the The Hopkinton Center for the Arts (HCA), which is so dedicated to creating an open, nurturing space where people from all ages in everything from personal art classes to full-on summer stock theater shows. Growing up in Hopkinton, I saw the HCA literally built from the ground up with the support of my best mentors and friends along the way. In particular, the HCA also holds a very special place in my heart due to my own theater background. In fact, whenever I open my closet, I glance at the stack of theater camp t-shirts sitting on the top rack, and I’m reminded of the countless songs, jokes, dances, and skits I've performed on the stage. Especially when I think back to my own theater camp days, I remember being mentored by the older kids who had been doing theater for years, and I looked up to them like they were older brothers and sisters. I know the HCA cultivates a very similar environment and community, and I want to do everything I can to make sure this amazing space and support network stays intact. Not only that, but my mama teaches art classes at the HCA, and it makes me so happy to see her flourishing and serving as a mentor and teacher to so many others. So mama--this one is for you!! XOXO
Also, as some of you may also know, I ran the marathon last year for Dana Farber in honor of my dear father Scott Howe and I cannot wait to run it again this year and make both of my parents proud! Please donate to my campaign to show my mama and the HCA your love and support!
