In October of 2018, I will run for charity for the first time! I will be running the Bank of America Chicago Marathon on October 7th and fundraising $1500 on behalf of Girls on the Run-Chicago to empower young women. These donations go directly toward crucial program scholarships for girls in need. We have a GOTR program in the school district that my family enrolls in and my own daughter has been able to partake in it's awesome program. We've been able to experience first-hand the leadership, fitness and lifestyle emphasis and character building tenets that Girls on the Run teaches thru the sport of running.
Girls on the Run is a non-profit 501(c)3 life-changing, after-school program for girls in 3rd-8th grade that creatively integrates running, goal-setting and training for a 5k with a curriculum all about developing confidence, respect and healthy living.
Girls on the Run-Chicago serves over 12,000 girls annually at more than 400 schools and to date has never needed to turn a girl away from the program because of her inability to pay the program fee. Please help Girls on the Run continue to say “yes” to girls who want to participate in this amazing program!
By September 1st, I am trying to raise $1500...any donation will help me hit my commitment goal! No donation amount is too small and even just a $10 donation will go towards this great cause.
Thanks for joining me in supporting this awesome organization and empowering thousands of girls!
