The story of Agape Source was birthed in 2016 through the passion of individuals wanting to share Jesus with unreached, college-aged internationals. God has brought these college interns here to our own community to work for Orlando’s largest employer. (Think Mouse Ears and Castles…)
Agape Source builds relationships by stepping into the lives of these students and caring for them in practical ways, thus creating opportunities to introduce them to Jesus. We accomplish this with the Holy Spirit’s guidance and use of the three-tier pyramid of outreach: Welcome, Share, and Mentor.
We Welcome: Interns are first welcomed by meeting some of their basic needs. These needs consist of assistance with things like overnight lodging after arrival, transportation, and grocery shopping. Interns are invited into fellowships surrounding celebrations that are important to them such as Chinese New Year and Moon Cake Festivals; as well as domestic holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas. Through the sharing of our cultures, we forge bonds of friendship.
We Share: We seek to unashamedly share the Good News of Jesus with these interns through strategic Bible studies that are contextualized to their culture. The greatest gift we can give to them is the truth of God’s heart towards them.
We Mentor: The friendships created with these interns are solidified as we mentor them through Bible studies, one-on-one relationships, and discipleship. But it goes beyond their time in America. We also mentor them by visiting them in their home countries and helping them get connected to local underground churches or missionaries there.
Our goal is to make their first chapter in America truly memorable by tangibly sharing the love of Christ through family-centered atmospheres and experiences.
We would like to personally invite you to join us at our Vision Dinner 2018. We will share how we continue to seek God’s direction for reaching the unreached and how that vision will impact the future of Agape Source. If you are unable to attend, we would appreciate you prayerfully considering supporting the Gospel work of this ministry as it impacts the lives of these students and our community as well. Your generous support, in whatever donation amount, is gratefully received and diligently stewarded. Thank you.
