As many of you know, I ran my first Boston Marathon last April as a part of the Golf Fights Cancer (GFC) team. The experience was truly unbelievable. Unrelenting rain, chilly temps, and a driving wind for the duration of the race. All that said, I finished in just under 4 hours with a smile on my face!
But what really blew me away was not the 45 MPH wind gusts (ha ha, no seriously...) but the amazing support I received from all of our family and friends throughout my fundraising efforts and especially on that day. I set out last year hoping to raise $10,000 for GFC. With all of your support I was able to raise $24,273! That is truly amazing, and makes me feel so proud.
It's that feeling that has pushed me to commit to not only running Boston again in 2019, but to raise even more money for GFC along the way. Cancer unfortunately continues to be ever present in our lives, with another family member just recently diagnosed, and GFC's mission continues to resonate with me.
Golf Fights Cancer was founded because we had a personal connection to cancer. Just like you.
This year I am setting my sights high and aim to raise $26,200 for GFC. I do hope you will support me once again, and thank you in advance for your consideration.
