My friends and colleagues know that my marathon journey is correlated to my age. Most also know the Boston Marathon holds a special place in my pantheon of marathon finishes; it's reserved for the really important milestones: 40th, 50th and now 60th birthday celebration races. And, they also know my biggest marathon races are associated with important charities and fund raising. This year is no exception as I am running for Massachusets Fallen Heroes. It is my honor to run for the MFH Team to raise funds to support the critical work they do for those that fought in Iraq and Afghansitan. MFH honors the fallen, supports Gold Star families and empowers veterans. It is led by Combat Veterans who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan. We live in a highly destabilized world and like it or not, America holds a unique place on the world stage which requires us to use military force to maintain order. The price we pay for order is the lives of our heroes, truly our best and brightest but its not a sacrafice that can be borne soley by this relativey small group of heroes. Please join me in my pursiut of support of their mission which is after all OUR MISSION too.
