It was a few years ago that Micah was asked by one of his favorite students to be a part of something called Be Brave for Life, to become a Board Member for the non-profit, raising awareness and supporting benign brain tumor research. It has been a life-changing experience, each year presenting new experiences, challenges, excitement. We have learned so much and continue to learn more about the challenges that Riley and the Callen's have faced, as well as others like Ryan Westmoreland. We are grateful to be a part of Be Brave for Life's mission striving to change the lives and outcomes for individuals like Riley and Ryan!
This is a new challenge that we have launched during Brain Tumor Awareness Month called The Be Brave for Life Challenge. Our team—the Light Walkers—will be raising awareness and funds with a goal of $200, that we hope to surpass, for continued research for a cure and non-invasive treatment methods. We want to do our part to change the outlook for those struggling through a terrifying diagnosis, to stand with them in solidarity and support. We all have our mountains, and this time we are climbing some for someone else, someone like Riley!
