Crohn's sucks. It sucks the life out of you both physically and mentally. Imagine when only having diarrhea is a good day. Imagine children taking steroids for the rest of their lives.
I have Crohn's but I'm in my fifties. I can take it. What breaks my heart is going to meet-ups and listening to teenagers (who will likely not make it to fifty) talk about the pain, the depression and the embarrassment. Yeah, Crohn's is embarrassing. When I training for this marathon I need to know where all the public washrooms are, the porter-potties, and other private places. I can never be more than 7 minutes run from a bathroom.
Crohn's sucks the energy out of you as your body no longer gets the nutrients it needs. Running, walking, getting out of bed just gets harder and harder. Then the pain comes. Taking morphine again and again. Loved ones powerless. Crohn's sucks.
