If you have visited the KidZone Museum recently, you may have been met by a disappointing sight - "Sorry, We Are At Capacity" - on the door. So many children love to play, discover, and connect with us, our visitation has increased by 200% in 10 years, and we have outgrown our current space.
In 2017, storm damage to our tent structure served as a poignant reminder that the Museum's current facility was never intended to be permanent. Although our care and maintenance has allowed us to use the structure for longer than intended, the manufacturer has told us that it will truly reach the end of its lifespan in less than five years.
We need a new space by 2023!
Your support today will go toward our goal to raise $100,000 to hire an experienced consultant to further the Museum's efforts to ignite a capital campaign and secure a permanent space.
As a small museum, the assistance of an experienced capital campaign consultant is vital to reaching our fundraising goals. Our Board is hard at work preparing for the Museum's transition to a space that includes a science center and has ample room for exhibits and programs for everyone from infants to teenagers. We have identified the big steps needed to start this campaign:
STEP 1: COMPLETED! Economic Feasibility Study and Pre-Campaign Survey of Potential Donors showed 40 major donors will give up to $3 million.
STEP 2: IN PROGRESS. Hire Capital Campaign Consultant and Identify Location
STEP 3: Launch Capital Campaign - We need your help!
With a larger space, the Museum could serve 50% more children living in poverty in our region. Ensuring that these children can access high-quality, early education programs with consistent, highly trained staff will build the brain connections that result in positive changes in their later ability to learn. Your support will have a lasting impact on the lives of children and families in our community.
