Marisa & Brady will begin the Camino de Santiago, a centuries-old pilgrimage route also known as the "Way of St. James" across the entire length of Spain beginning May 4th, and continue walking (to wherever that may take them!) until at least June 11th. To reach Santiago de Compostela from our starting point will be just over 500 miles, and with our planned extension South after Santiago, we hope to exceed 1,000 kilometers, or 600 miles!
Michael A. Butera, Marisa's maternal grandfather, was a wonderful man who passed away from cancer on June 11th, 2005. Brady & I are honored to be able to complete this experience and fulfill a years-long dream of mine to honor my grandfather, while fundraising for the hospice home that gave my family great comfort and support during the last weeks of his life.
Matthew House is located on a quiet street in Auburn, NY, and since its opening in 2002, has hosted over three hundred terminally ill individuals in their final days of life. Their professional staff and volunteers offer loving care and support to both residents and their loved ones are provided free of charge, with all funding covered entirely by donations (no public funding or insurance reimbursements).
I know he'd be honored that others will be able to receive the same experience as he did thanks to your contributions. We appreciate any amount you're able to give; all contributions will go directly to Matthew House.
