Bowling for Rhinos (BFR) is a national bowl-a-thon to fundraise for in situ rhino habitat conservation. Rhinoceros are flagship species, meaning that in conserving rhino habitat, countless other plant and animal species are also protected. The American Association of Zoo Keepers' (AAZK's) largest conservation fundraising effort, Bowling for rhinos has donated over $6 million to rhinoceros conservation organizations sine 1990. Funds raised are shared between the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, the International Rhino Foundation, Action for Cheetahs in Kenya, and the BFR Conservation Resource Grant. You can visit https://www.aazk.org/bowling-for-rhinos/ for more information. More than 80 local chapters in both the US and Canada participate each year. Our local chapter hosts bowling and a silent auction, both of which are open to all! This year the event will be at: Townline Luxury Lanes, 665 Broadway, Malden MA 02148 on May 18th. Bowling runs from 7:30 to 9:30 pm. We recommend coming early for registration and to check out the silent auction! Advance registration is $150/lane (6 people max) or $30/person and includes 2 hours of bowling, a BFR t-shirt, and pizza. To register, sign in to Crowdrise and either join the fundraising team or make a donation! Leaving a comment with your donation that you're registering for the event and your preferred t-shirt size is also very helpful to the organizers. You can also RSVP to the Facebook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/224101574735105/ or message the organizers at AAZKNewEnglandChapter@gmail.com. Registration at the door will be $35/person.
