Join the NHL, NHLPA, and the American Cancer Society to fight cancer. Youth and local hockey leagues across the country are teaming up to raise funds to support patient services such as the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge® and Road to Recovery® programs for cancer patients and their families.
What is Hockey Fights Cancer? Hockey Fights Cancer™ was founded in 1998 by the National Hockey League® (NHL) and the National Hockey League Players' Association (NHLPA). Since its inception, Hockey Fights Cancer has resulted in donations of more than $20 million to support the cancer programs of national and local cancer research institutions, children's hospitals, player charities, and local charities.
Hockey Fights Cancer™ unites the hockey community in support of cancer patients and their families. Together, we look to inspire hope and courage for those who are living with, going through, and moving past cancer. Funds raised through this partnership support patient services such as the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge® and Road to Recovery® programs.
HFC Assist is for youth and local hockey teams between the ages of 6 and 18 years old and takes place from November through April.
How does HFC Assist work? Just sign up, recruit others, and fundraise to support Hockey Fights Cancer. Here’s how to get started:

- STEP 3: Share your story on social. Use the hashtag #HockeyFightsCancer
- STEP 4: Visit your team’s page often to see who has contributed to your team’s fundraiser and the latest standings.
