Sukkot in Spring 2019
Yachad and Adat Shalom are once again partnering for Sukkot in Spring. We are cleaning our tools and stocking up on paint in order to turn houses into homes again. Together we can address substandard housing in the metro DC area and help our neighbors have safe and healthy homes.
Adat Shalom will be helping the Mitchell-Ross family in DC. The homeowner, who has multiple sclerosis, has lived in her house for 21 years. Her daughter and her two granddaughters—a toddler and a baby—live with her. The family does not have a working kitchen: the sink faucet is broken, the stove and oven don’t work, and there are no kitchen cabinets since they fell off the wall. For years, this family has been cooking solely with a hot plate and microwave. In addition to renovating the kitchen, we will also repair the first-floor bathroom and leaky roof.
Funding is needed to cover supplies, materials and professional contractors. Thank you for your support.
