"I left with what I could fit in the trunk of my Uncle's car."
Many domestic violence survivors, like the woman quoted above, leave with what they can carry; they leave their home and possessions. However, when a survivor reaches Coburn Place, she and her kids find a home, fully furnished, ready for new better memories, and hope.
Coburn Place, here in Indianapolis, helps families move past the pain, instability, and fear that comes with domestic violence. At Coburn Place, they rebuild lives.
Last year, over 40 friends and family sponsored an apartment. But their support meant more than just an apartment. Clients have shared many successes the past year: celebrated second year of sobriety, accepted into college, received a scholarship, improved credit score by 300 points, bought a car. They accomplished this because they could escape their abusers, find stable housing, and join a community of support.
Please join me in supporting domestic violence survivors with a gift to Coburn Place.
