Always true to its mission of tackling the challenges of aging with expert solutions, AGE of Central Texas envisions a world where aging is a shared journey of strength and compassion. Aging can bean isolating experience, and we alleviate loneliness by connecting people and providing support.
We do this through 6 programs: Adult Day Healthcare, Health Equipment Lending Program (HELP), Memory Connections (early memory loss), CaregiverU, Caregiver Resource Center, and Computer Lab.
Growing rapidly, the number of older adults in the Austin-Williamson County area will increase by approximately 370% by 2040.*
Many of them will experience challenging cognitive and physical changes, and statistics suggest two-thirds will rely exclusively on family members and other informal helpers for care. AGE is uniquely poised to support the journey of aging in Central Texas' changing landscape because its programs insist on a dual focus, holistically serving both older adults and their family caregivers.
Excitingly this year, AUSTIN GIVES MILES, the philanthropy program of the Austin Marathon and Half Marathon, is aiming to raise $750,000 for 27 local and national not-for-profits. You can help Central Texas non-profits advance their missions through community awareness and active fundraising.
