Hi everyone! As many of you know, I moved to the Boston area last year. One way I have been staying active is running. Actual distances and not just up and down a basketball court!! Surprising to everyone.
A couple friends out here somehow convinced me to run the Covered Bridges Half Marathon in Vermont. I have never done anything like this, but was largely convinced by the charity they were running for-- positive tracks!
Positive Tracks is a nonprofit with a "sweat for good" mission. They help youth make change for causes they care about (everything from cancer research to hunger prevention to racial justice and more!). For youth looking to make change, the organization provides advice on fitness, leadership, team building, event planning, etc. all free of cost. If it is a fundraiser, they will match the amount you raise! Essentially, they help young people jumpstart fundraising and leadership projects that involve physical activity! A cause that definitely aligns with my values and lifestyle. I am hoping to raise $500 before struggling through 13.1 on June 3!
