Hi friends! Thanks for stopping by my fundraising page. I'm raising money in honor of - you guessed it - my first marathon EVER right here in New York City. That's right, I'll be lucky enough to be one of more than 50,000 runners toeing the line on November 5th for the chance to run through all five boroughs (including a few miles that will take me through my neighborhood and right past my apartment!). As I train and run, I'm lucky enough to be supported by Achilles International, an amazing organization that not only is helping me get marathon-ready with weekly practices and coaching, but has also been my gateway into triathlons and half marathons over the past year. My teammates and coaches have become a huge part of my life, and some of my closest friends. I’ll be running this marathon with Jessie Rix, an amazing friend and seasoned marathoner who knows that the best course support she can give is to read out all the hilarious signs people are holding!
Achilles provides support to athletes with disabilities to allow them to participate in mainstream athletics, and has helped literally hundreds of people all over the world get involved in sports, no matter what their needs. I am so excited to raise money for Achilles this marathon season, and hope you'll consider making a small donation to support the inspiring things that this organization will continue to do. Your support (plus a lot of water, Gatorade, gels and snacks) will carry me through those 26.2 miles come race day!
