Headquartered in Atlanta, The Alma G. Davis Foundation was founded in 2005 with a mission to educate, empower and celebrate survivors of domestic violence and help them achieve economic and self-sufficiency. The long-term vision is to aid in the eradication of domestic violence worldwide while educating the public about its effects.
The foundation works with individual victims of domestic violence and provides support to domestic violence shelters to help survivors move toward economic and self-sufficiency. The foundation has served thousands of survivors across the U.S, by providing training in pre-employment and work maturity skills (such as resume writing, interviewing, hygiene and grooming), financial literacy, job placement, and social services (such as advocacy, counseling, legal assistance, safety planning, etc.).
