Ida Greene was a fiercely independent mother of 5, grandmother of 14, and a great-grandmother to an increasing number of children. She was active and outgoing and prided herself in her ability to take care of herself and others. She was diagnosed with ALS and passed away in 2014. She is one of my biggest role models and inspirations and I am running in her memory.
This year I am running a full marathon to fundraise for the ALS Society in memory of Nana Greene. She touched so many people's lives with her baking, her crochet, and her enthusiasm for minor league sports. My nana was incredibly active throughout her life and has inspired me to put on foot in front of the other to walk, run, or bike through my own! I miss her dearly and hope my fundraising will help others in caring for those affected by ALS and in finding a cure for this debilitating disease.
If you are interested in donating, you can do so through this page or get in touch with me personally for a cash or cheque donation. If you're unable to donate, I would be so grateful if you shared this page with someone else in the hopes that we can spread the word about ALS and raise more research funding.
