Amanda Boxtel was paralyzed from the waist down during a skiing accident 26 years ago. Wanting to keep up her active lifestyle, the former dancer started using cutting-edge technology in an effort to regain mobility. She soon realized that this largely inaccessible technology should be shared with others. In 2014, she started Bridging Bionics, a nonprofit that provides low-cost or free high-tech physical therapy to patients with mobility issues.
