Over the past 15 months, Charlie, America’s VetDog’s “puppy with a purpose,” has been featured on NBC’s TODAY morning show. His regular appearances in front of millions of viewers have brought critical attention to the needs of disabled veterans and showcased the range and intensity that goes into training a service dog. Now, Charlie is ready to take his proud place by a veteran’s side – and YOU can help!
Donate to America’s VetDogs today and you can provide life-changing service dogs to the veterans who need them.
Charlie has been partnered with retired U.S. Air Force Staff Sergeant and Combat Photojournalist Stacy Pearsall. Stacy served for 10 years, including three tours of duty during Operation Iraqi Freedom, where she was awarded the Bronze Star and Air Force Commendation with Valor for combat actions.
Charlie will help increase Stacy's mobility and independence and will retrieve and carrying items for her, provide balance when walking and bracing to help her stand up. Charlie will also help mitigate the effects of her combat related PTSD utilizing skills such as turning lights on and off, providing nightmare interruption, as well as providing comfort and encouragement in new and different social situations.
VetDogs is committed to providing service dogs to veterans of ALL eras absolutely free of charge. Beginning November 9, 2017, the day Charlie was introduced to Stacy, through Tuesday, December 12, 2017, the goal is to raise $100,000 to change more veterans lives with a service dog trained just for them.
Give today and change a veteran’s future.
