Run for Malak
This beautiful baby girl came into this world on Valentine’s day, 2017. She was four months early and weighed in at 1 lb., 6 oz. Like most micro-preemies born this early, she faced a long stay in the NICU and faced many health issues related to her prematurity. Her road to recovery was long and scary for her first time parents, but luckily they didn’t have to face this alone. Thanks to the Long Beach Ronald McDonald House, Malak’s parents were able to stay close to her every minute of the day; allowing them a chance to sleep, shower and recharge while remaining within steps of Malak. Like thousands of families before them, staying at the Ronald McDonald House also allowed them to have better, quicker communications with Malak’s medical team and to improve adherence to her complicated treatment plans which resulted in the beautiful baby girl coming home to her parents as quickly as possible. Today we celebrate Malak’s health and acknowledge the role that The Long Beach Ronald McDonald House played in her journey. Everyday, they give families a place to stay, a source of comfort, care, and support, and a chance to focus all of their energies on what matters most...getting well. We cordially invite you to join us in our Run for Malak and to help us continue to fund this Ronald McDonald mission of providing comfort, care, and support to children and families in Southern California.
