As most of you know, we have a small dog named Hazel that Andrea adopted from The Sato Project in 2014. Those of you that have met Hazel (or Andrea for that matter) know what a ray of sunshine she is and have likely had the opportunity to witness first hand how much joy a rescue dog can spread. To that end, in lieu of gifts we are asking for donations to this cause that is incredibly close to our hearts.
For a bit of background, The Sato Project works in Puerto Rico to rescue the thousands of stray dogs (called Satos), provide veterinary services, and bring them to loving homes in Boston and NY. With the tragic hurricanes last year, they have expanded their mission to helping keep families together (providing transport for dogs whose families have been forced to evacuate the island) while they continue their original work. With the unfortunate state of many parts of the island, now more than ever there is a huge need for funding to rescue the surge in abandoned pets and the resulting new puppies.
