Appetite For Change (AFC) uses food as a tool to build health, wealth and social change. We are a community-based, food-justice organization in North Minneapolis. Our programs include community cooking workshops, urban agriculture and organized food policy efforts. We train local youth in urban farming, food preparation and leadership, with a focus on providing career pathways to the foodservice industry and beyond.
This CrowdRise campaign will help us run the West Broadway Farmer’s Market in North Minneapolis, which AFC was asked to take over this year. The West Broadway Farmer’s Market is integral to the community and access to fresh, local food. It also establishes connections between growers and community members, while providing job training opportunities for AFC youth.

This campaign is a part of A Community Thrives project. It's a friendly fundraising campaign launched by the USA TODAY NETWORK where organizations related to wellness, arts & culture, and education compete to raise the most money for their ideas with the top teams and causes winning grant money. A total of $600,000 in grants will be given away to organizations in the project. If we meet our $6000 goal, we're eligible to win a $100,000 grant!
