According to the latest figures, there are over 8,000 people in Alameda County currently experiencing homelessness, with over 1/8 of those in the city of Berkeley. We feel it is our responsibility as a Berkeley-owned business to do our part in this daily struggle for many of our neighbors.
That is why The Aquatic has pledged $5,000 of matching funds for this campaign! For every dollar you donate up to $5,000, we will double your contribution and impact in this urgent crisis.
Berkeley Food & Housing Project has been working to ease and end homelessness in our city since 1970. Their multifaceted approach includes providing shelter beds, free hot meals, and assistance in finding employment and permanent housing for individuals experiencing homelessness. All of their programs are evidence-based and they provide excellent transparency on their programs and finances, ensuring that all donations will benefit the homeless community of Berkeley.
The Aquatic is an independent, craft-inspired apartment community in Berkeley's 4th St. District. We feel it is our duty to act as community partners in the city we call home, and as a housing provider we like to do our part to ensure those without homes have all the tools they need to get on their feet again. Past Aquatic-led fundraisers have benefited the North Valley Community Foundation with wildfire relief, and our previous partnership with BFHP was their first-ever crowdfunding campaign!
